FAQ
Got questions? We’ve got answers! Here’s everything you need to know about Rock The Bluff.
How big will the crowd be?
We have 2,000 physical tickets that will be given out for free to performers, businesses, sponsors, and more. We also have hundreds of VIPs and plus-ones from bands, vendors, staff, etc. To top it off, we have invited the entire town of Merom for free—just show up with an ID!
All in all, we’re going to have somewhere around 3,000 tickets in circulation, and that’s before we even talk about actual sales, which we hope will also occur. That being said, these are not concrete numbers and we do not expect that amount of people to show up. The actual number will be much smaller. We can’t give anyone a guarantee.
What style of music will be there?
We are a variety music festival. We like to say we have something for everyone, but not everything for everyone. We will have Rock of course, but also Country, Blues, EDM, and even Rap.
It’s important to check the Bands Page to find the artists that are more for you!
Can I volunteer for a free ticket?
Yes! We staff mostly from volunteers and we are more than happy to give you free admission in exchange for two 4-hour shifts. This will not be hard labor—mostly things like checking tickets at the gate or helping with trash detail.

Do you pay the bands and artists?
Yes. We compensate the performers. We pay some bands an upfront fee, but this is not common. Our most common approach is to pay the bands in tickets. There is no fee and they can keep 100% of the money from ticket sales. This is NOT pay to play.
We find this is the most fair approach for bands and owners. If a band can sell 100 tickets, they just made $5,000. If another band can only sell 20 tickets, they made $1,000. To us, that feels fair—and this is also how we get a good crowd for the bands and vendors.
Will you have National Artists there?
Don’t get us wrong—we would take a national act—but that’s not what Rock The Bluff is really about. We want those diamonds in the rough. We want those unsung heroes. We want those rising stars.
You would not believe the talent that is out there that has 600 plays on their last song on YouTube. We have so much awesome starving talent out there. We have bands that are national quality all around Indiana.
